Fragrant Groundcover Flourishes in California Conditions

Why Creeping Rosemary?
Imagine a stunning carpet of fresh green growth cascading from your retaining walls, planters or eroding slopes in your garden: With our Creeping Rosemary, you’ll have the benefits of color and more. For starters, its aromatic leaves delight, along with its richly-hued foliage that grows quickly for effortless groundcover.

And even better is its adaptability. Simply plant in full sun and well-drained soil, and your Creeping Rosemary is ready to flourish in your Golden State landscape. In fact, this Creeping Rosemary is tailored for California growth, with drought tolerance once established and the ability to truly thrive in dry, arid desert conditions.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: First, select a location with well-drained soil and full sun – any area with about 6 to 8 hours of sunlight is perfect. The Creeping Rosemary performs best on slopes and banks that need erosion control, or walls and planters where it can grow downward. And if you’re planting as groundcover, place Creeping Rosemary plants about 5 feet apart, or closer if you want faster coverage. Also, mulching can control weeds.

When you’re ready to plant your Creeping Rosemary, dig a hole that’s about one and a half to two times the size of your plant’s root ball, place the plant in the hole, back fill the soil and water to settle the roots.

2. Watering: Once established, your Creeping Rosemary is drought tolerant, but it’s important to have a regular watering schedule for the first few growing seasons. Water about once weekly or more often in extreme heat and check the surrounding soil…if the surrounding soil is dry 2 inches down, it’s time to water your plant.

3. Pruning: Prune your Creeping Rosemary during spring, before new growth begins.
